The USA Judo Rank System is an outline for Judo Instruction:
The USA Judo Junior Judo Rank System is a complete beginner’s guide to Judo, so Coaches can build their entire program around it.  The USA Judo Rank System is not just a list of techniques to be studied, it also contains full instructions on how to conduct an effective and successful program.  For the experienced Coach, the system provides a valuable review of technical Judo rank requirements.  For the new Coach, the system can be used to create and guide a club program.

The USA Judo Rank system is simple to administer:
The USA Judo Junior Judo Rank System is easy for coaches and athletes to administer.  The club Coach will be able to conduct activities with a minimum of paperwork.  Using this system, the coach finds it easy to teach the required material, provide competitive opportunities, test and promote students promptly.

Establishes a Junior Judo Development Fund:
The USA Judo Junior Judo Rank System provides income to pay for the expenses of the program and build an adequate fund for junior Judo development.  This system, with all of our efforts, we will provide funds to give to our young Judoists training, travel and competition opportunities.

Progressive Achievement-The Key to Retention:
The USA Judo Junior Judo Rank System must be structured in a way that will provide a progressive achievement system for young Judoists. Because of the young athlete’s high interest and enthusiasm for promotions, this progressive achievement system will help retain these young athletes in American Judo. Young people need structure and immediate goals for which they can strive. They should be able to visualize the steps that are necessary to achieve excellence in Judo. Making sure that young Judoists stay in Judo for the rest of their lives is our goal.  This system, by providing an adequate number of ranks, spaced properly along the road to mastery, gives every student a sense of accomplishment.  Every three months a new rank can be achieved if the required material is learned, and the student enters competitions.  If the requirements are attained, this will result in a greater number of Judo students retained in the sport.
